Horse and Groom

Set in the heart of idyllic Rushlake Green, we offer fine dining, with an excellent menu, in the traditional surroundings of an English pub. Our food is homemade and we use locally sourced ingredients such as Heathfield Park venison, duck and rabbit; Seaford Lobster and Hastings Crab. And while we pride ourselves on our menu and restaurant, we are still a village pub at heart - as we have been for over 230 years – where a welcome is given to all, including dog owners. You can find us in the Michelin Pub Guide and the Which Guide of Country Pubs. Contact Fiona Airey: 01435 830320./ This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Merrie Harriers Pub & Restaurant

The Merrie Harriers Pub in Cowbeech is a 16th century listed building set within an area of natural beauty. Inside our pub you will find a restaurant area, function room and bar area that has a large inglenook fire, where dogs are welcome to join their owners for drinks and a bite to eat. Outside we have a patio overlooking our large beer garden with beautiful views of the Sussex countryside.  We source our produce from surrounding farms, our seafood is delivered daily, caught off the Sussex Coast and our game is supplied by local gamekeepers. A children’s menu is also available. Ben West, proprietor and Head Chef, brings his experience of over a decade of working in some of London’s finest restaurants to The Merrie Harriers –  Enjoy!
